Curb Girl: what an urban-based accidental journalist accidentally thinks when she's falling face-first on figurative pavement

Is Rockfest over yet?

Oh, boy, 12 hours of live rock, from two stages and 15 bands: Stone Temple Pilots, Shinedown, Sevendust, Saliva, Chevelle, Trapt, Another Animal; Saving Abel, Theory Of A Deadman, Bloodsimple, 10 Years, ASHES dIVIDE, Another Black Day, Redline Chemistry.

I disagree that the roads, as the main paper posted at 2:45 this afternoon, were jammed beyond use; I was wandering Crossroads and found a great spot to park at 1, with ease, and I didn't have any trouble going towards Westport for food a couple of hours later. It's funny to see folks tailgating in Hallmark's and the Jackson County junvenile justice center's parking lots.

Fifty thousand people is a lot.

I guess it's a good thing that the Battle of Normandy (anniversary #64) was in World War II and not I, since if I were a tourist come to see the nation's "one and only World War I museum" and found it closed for rocking, I would not opt to pay $75 to hear grim- and gruesome-named bands. Alas, I could not, as the fest 'o Rock was sold out. I thought they weren't going to hold it here any longer due to park impact.

Perhaps that was another fest.

I can't tell when it started … 12 hours … when is Rockfest over?
